Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies, a unit of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (NSE:ARE&M, BOM:500008), is set to have access to GIB EnergyX Slovakia's technology to manufacture lithium-ion cells in both cylindrical and prismatic forms as part of a new licensing deal.

The licensing agreement covers cell technology IP, support in setting up Gigafactory facilities with the latest generation process technologies, integration with Gotion's global supply chain network for critical battery materials, and customer technical support for solution deployment.

GIB EnergyX is a subsidiary of Chinese battery manufacturer Gotion High-Tech (SHE:002074), according to a press release filed with the Indian bourses on Monday.

Amara Raja Energy said the technology transfer will help the company start the operations of its Gigafactory and advanced research and innovation center.
