Nine Entertainment Co. Holdings (ASX:NEC) is examining blocking access to its articles and images to generative artificial intelligence, owned by companies like ChatGPT, according to a Sunday news item published by Nine Entertainment-owned The Australian Financial Review.

The New York Times, Financial Times and Australian independent publisher Crikey have blocked access to ChatGPT. Nine's publications The Australian Financial Review, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age do not currently have restrictions, the article stated.

"We regularly review the benefits of our current approach and will continue to do so," a Nine spokesperson said.

News Corp (ASX:NWS) has a deal with ChatGPT and has blocked access to its competitor Anthropic. News Corp and Nine Entertainment have cut jobs in recent months as deals with Meta, Facebook's publisher, end, according to the article.
