Barnes & Noble Education to Lose Ernst & Young as Independent Auditor -- Market Talk

1645 ET - Barnes & Noble Education's board has started a process to select a new accounting firm to serve as its independent auditor for the current fiscal year after being informed by Ernst & Young that it won't stand for reappointment as its auditor for fiscal 2025. During fiscal 2023 and fiscal 2024, there were no disagreements with EY on any matter of accounting principles or financial practices, Barnes & Noble discloses on an SEC filing. The school-bookstore operator's news come two days after reporting a 2.4% drop in sales to $235.9 million and a narrower loss of $27.4 million in 4Q. (sabela.ojea@wsj.com; @sabelaojeaguix)
