Barnes & Noble Education Fiscal Q4 Loss Narrows, Sales Decline; Shares Rise After Hours

Barnes & Noble Education (BNED) reported a fiscal Q4 loss late Monday of $10.24 per diluted share, narrower than a loss of $17.48 from a year earlier.

One analyst polled by Capital IQ expected a loss of $38.

Sales for the quarter ended April 27 were $235.9 million, down from $241.8 million a year earlier. One analyst surveyed by Capital IQ expected $253.8 million.

Shares of the company were up 4.1% in recent after-hours activity.
