Olin (OLN) said Monday that the European Commission has lodged an anti-dumping complaint concerning imports of epoxy resins from China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The European Commission took action after a complaint from Olin, Westlake (WLK), and Spolchemie, known as members of the Ad Hoc Coalition of Epoxy Resin Producers, to probe the dumping practices of the four countries' exporters on the EU market, Olin added.
The complaint raised concern that exporters from the countries have "injured" European epoxy resin manufacturers by offering their products in the EU regions at "unfairly low prices" that undercut the European producers' prices, the company said.
If the probe concludes that injurious dumping practices from the four countries took place, the regulator may charge additional duties on imports of epoxy resins to restore a level playing field in the EU, Olin said.
