Beryl made landfall on the Texas coast early Monday as a Category 1 hurricane with winds of ~80 miles near Matagorda between Houston and Corpus Christi; the ports of Corpus Christi, Houston, Galveston, Freeport and Texas City had closed on Sunday to prepare for storm. Chemical company Chemours (CC) said Sunday it was prepared to adjust staffing and secure equipment during and after the storm, and Enbridge (ENB), which runs crude oil export facilities near Corpus Christi, also said it had activated emergency plans for assets along the Gulf Coast. Gulf of Mexico producers including Shell (SHEL) and Chevron (CVX) also shut in production or evacuated personnel from their Gulf of Mexico offshore platforms. \"The concern when the storm makes landfall is the potential impact it could have on refinery infrastructure,\" ING analysts say. \"Any meaningful disruptions to Texas refinery operations will likely support refined product cracks.
