Renascor Resources (ASX:RNU) secured a AU$5 million grant under the Australian Government's International Partnerships in Critical Minerals Program for its Battery Anode Material project in South Australia, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.
The grant has been awarded for co-funding up to 49.9% of the capital cost of a AU$10 million demonstration processing plant for purified spherical graphite for lithium-ion battery anodes. The plant, processing graphite concentrates from the company's Siviour deposit, will incorporate design work from the August 2023 definitive feasibility level battery anode material study, the filing said.
The grant application was supported by POSCO International (KRX:047050) and Hanwa Co (TYO:8078), the company said.
Renascor Resources shares rose 2% in morning trading.
