LONGi to Build Battery Plant for 3.21 Billion Yuan

LONGi Green Energy Technology (SHA:601012) will invest 3.21 billion yuan to construct a hybrid passivated back contact cell or HPBC battery plant, according to the company's filing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

The plant in Jinghe New City, Xixian New Area in China's Shaanxi Province is expected to be fully operational in June 2025. It will produce an annual output of 12.5-gigawatt batteries, the Chinese solar panel manufacturer noted in its Saturday filing.

Shares of the company slipped 1% in recent trade.
