Tianqi Lithium (HKG:9696, SHE:002466) is negotiating with potential partners for a possible investment in battery materials and factories in Europe to respond to sustainability needs in the continent, the South China Morning Post reported Friday, citing Chief Executive Officer Frank Ha Chun-shing.
The chief executive did not disclose the countries where they plan to forge partnerships but the company is looking at a European Union member country vital to the electric vehicle supply chain, the report said.
Contemporary Amperex Technology (SHE:300750) already has a factory in Germany while BYD (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) is constructing a plant in Hungary, the report said.
