Hong Kong Shares Edge Higher, Tracking Wall Street -- Market Talk

0135 GMT - Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index edges 0.4% higher at 17803.82, tracking Wall Street. The main theme overnight is risk-on sentiment after better-than-expected U.S. retail sales for June and market expectations of at least two Fed rate cuts this year, analysts at Commerzbank Research write in a note. Among advancersLi Auto rises 4.4%, Li Ning is 2.8% higher and Alibaba Health Information Technology gains 2.2%. Meanwhile, Orient Overseas (International) falls 1.6%, PetroChina loses 1.4% and China Resources Power is 0.9% lower. The Hang Seng Tech index is 0.9% higher at 3654.28. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
