Singapore Shares Little Changed; Markets Await U.S. Data -- Market Talk

0943 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index closed flat at 3460.82 amid broad regional losses. The markets will be focused on U.S. new home sales data for June and flash manufacturing and services PMI data for July, both due later in the day, the UOB Global Economics and Markets Research team writes in a note. Among decliners, Jardine Cycle & Carriage fell 1.55%, while Singapore Airlines and Thai Beverage lost 1.0% each. Meanwhile, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding rose 3.9%, Singtel gained 1.7% and Seatrium was 1.3% higher. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
