Chinese Robotaxis Making Progress Toward Full Commercialization in China -- Market Talk

Dow Jones07-25

0532 GMT - Chinese robotaxis have made some progress toward full commercialization in China, but at a small scale, Daiwa analysts say. They note that the Chinese government has been supporting the push to commercialize robotaxis, hoping to boost advanced infrastructure construction for the vehicle-to-everything concept and expand smart-transportation and smart-city efforts. Self-driving cars would be a key way to achieve that goal, they say in a note. In addition, Beijing plans to encourage tech companies to develop autonomous-driving technologies and make them profitable to further support industry growth, Daiwa says. Desay SV, Foryou, Nexteer and XPeng are Daiwa's picks for the advanced autonomous-driving sector. (jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
