BUZZ-NextEra Energy rises on profit increase, renewables backlog growth

** Shares of utility firm NextEra Energy up 3.7% at $74.76

** Co reported Q2 adj. income of $1.97 bln, or 96 cents per share, compared with $1.78 bln, or 88 cents per share, a year ago

** However, NEE missed LSEG analyst estimates, which stood at 98 cents

** NextEra Energy Resources backlog rose to 22.6 GW

** Co reaffirms its full-year adj. profit forecast of $3.23 to $3.43 per share

** "At (Florida Light & Power) regulatory capital growth remained strong... additionally, peer Duke Energy recently received a highly constructive decision in its rate case filing, supporting our view of Florida's highly constructive regulatory environment" - Morningstar analyst Andrew Bischof

** NextEra Energy Partners , a unit of NEE created to acquire, manage and own contracted energy projects, raise dividend by 6% from the year-ago quarter

** Including sessions gains, NEE up ~22.3% YTD
