Alibaba Group (HKG:9988) and Tencent Holdings (HKG:0700) have integrated Facebook owner Meta's artificial intelligence model Llama 3.1 into their cloud platforms, the South China Morning Post reported Thursday.

Alibaba included the Llama 3.1 large language model into its Bailian model training platform, while Tencent's integration of Llama 3.1 will allow fine-tuning and inferencing changes to expand usability, the report said.

Chinese start-ups have used Llama as their foundation for generative AI products, the report said.
