Morgan analysts. UK stocks (EWU), (FLGB) are seeing attractive valuations, better political clarity and potentially lower bond yields that would make dividend yields more attractive for them, J.P. Morgan analysts, headed by Mislav Matejka, said in a note. UK stocks (EWU), (FLGB) are trading at 11.5x forward P/E, near the lows relative to other markets in Europe (VGK) and internationally (ACWI). The UK dividend yield is 4.1%, more than double the broader MSCI World index (ACWI), and J.P. Morgan’s fixed income team expects it to fall another 35 basis points by the middle of next year. Also, “the election's event risk is behind us, and the new government is likely to provide more fiscal credibility and stability, with focus on domestic agenda, homebuilding and the consumer,” Matejka wrote. In addition, within the UK, analysts are preferring stocks with exposure to domestic trade versus the exporters. “Labour party’s landslide victory in the recent parliamentary elections could signal an end to years of political volatility, following the Brexit referendum vote of 2016,” Matejka said. “We believe the Labour government is likely to focus on the domestic agenda, improving growth prospects through supply side reforms.” J.P.
