Rincon Resources (ASX:RCR) said that it has encountered zones of anomalous copper mineralization at the Pokali prospect despite failing to intersect high-grade copper mineralization.
Reverse circulation and diamond drilling at Pokali, within the West Arunta project in Western Australia, returned intercepts that include 1 meter at 0.51% copper and 4 meters at 0.39% copper, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
Geochemical analysis established zoned alteration and trace element signatures at Pokali East and Pokali North, which are indicative of iron oxide-copper-gold systems.
The company is planning to conduct an airborne magnetic survey in the coming weeks to provide greater lithological and structural interpretation.
Shares of Rincon Resources were down 34% Tuesday.
