Deutsche Lufthansa extended a suspension on flights to and from the Lebanese capital Beirut due to current developments in the Middle East.
Flights to the city from carriers Lufthansa, Swiss and Eurowings will be suspended up to and including Aug. 5, a spokesman for the German airline group said.
"A total of five rotations will be removed from the flight program," the spokesman said.
Earlier Monday, the company had said it would suspend flights up to and including July 30.
Lufthansa isn't the only airline to change its flights to the region.
Peer Air France said it too was suspending flights due to the security situation in Lebanon.
The French carrier's flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Beirut were suspended for July 29 and 30, a spokesman said, adding the decision also applies to Transavia France.
The suspension comes after a weekend rocket attack in Israel-controlled Golan Heights struck mostly young people in a soccer field.
The attack exacerbated already fraught tensions along Israel's border with Lebanon and with Hezbollah.
Israel's military said it believes the U.S.-designated terrorist group was responsible for the attack, though Hezbollah said it wasn't involved.
There has been a near daily exchange of fire between Hezbollah and Israel since shortly after the attack against Israel by Hamas in October.
