TechGen Metals (ASX:TG1) has begun its first airborne geophysics survey at Sally Downs copper and nickel project in Western Australia, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.

The survey aims to generate bed-rock conductors for drill targeting using the TargetEM system.

The mineral explorer's Blue Devil and Copper Springs projects will also be flown in another four to six weeks as a newer version of the Target EM 26 system is on its way from Canada, the filing said.

TechGen Metals' shares were down more than 3% in recent trade.
