DHL Owner Deutsche Post Surprises With Guidance Confirmation -- Market Talk

Dow Jones08-01

0719 GMT - DHL owner Deutsche Post maintained its guidance against fears that it would cut it, but it is looking increasingly likely that its full-year result will be toward the bottom end of the range, Deutsche Bank analysts say in a research note. "We had expected the [full-year] guidance to be cut but today's measures on costs, network management and peak season surcharges allow the company to make the bottom end of guidance," the analysts say. To reach the bottom end, the German logistics group--also known as DHL Group--needs a step up of EUR600 million in EBIT in the second half relative to the first, Deutsche Bank estimates. Shares rise 2.6%. (adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
