Trinity Industries Rallies After Posting Better-than-Expected Q2 Results, Guiding 2024 EPS Above Analyst Consensus

Trinity Industries (TRN) gained more than 10% in recent Thursday trading after the railcar leasing company reported Q2 adjusted net income of $0.66 per diluted share compared with $0.23 a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $0.34.

Revenue for the quarter ended June 30 was $841.4 million, compared with $722.4 million a year earlier.

Analysts expected $738 million.

For 2024, Trinity is projecting EPS of $1.55 to $1.75, excluding items outside its core business operations.

Analysts are looking for $1.52.
