SkyCity Entertainment to Close Auckland Casino from Sept. 9 to 13

MT Newswires Live08-02

SkyCity Entertainment Group (ASX:SKC, NZE:SKC) will close the gambling area of SkyCity Auckland casino from Sept. 9 to 13 amid a failure to comply with certain requirements, according to a Friday filing with the New Zealand bourse.

The closure is part of an agreement reached with the Department for Internal Affairs about a complaint filed by a former customer in February 2022. In announcing the agreement last July 18, SkyCity acknowledged that it did not meet the requirement under its "host responsibility program."

All SkyCity Auckland hotels, attractions, restaurants, and bars outside of the gambling area will remain open, the filing said.
