Air France extended its suspension of flights between Paris and Lebanon's capital Beirut through Thursday as the Middle East steels itself for possibly more violence.
"The resumption of operations will be subject to a new assessment of the local situation," France's national carrier said, adding that the airline is monitoring developments in Lebanon in real time.
Air France has suspended flights to the country since July 29 after a rocket attack in the Israel-controlled Golan Heights struck mostly young people in a soccer field, escalating tensions in the region.
Since that attack, Israel said it killed a senior Hezbollah leader in a strike in Beirut and both Iran and Hamas blame Israel for an attack that last week killed a Hamas political leader in the Iranian capital.
There are fears that Iran will retaliate against Israel for the strike in Tehran.
