In an Equity Strategy note, analysts said that the region remains a risk, with no capitulation, and the risk of broader market pullback that could cause further drawdowns through the summer. “A number of prominent National Rally politicians (France) have suggested that once in power, the party will adhere to EU fiscal rules,” wrote Analyst Mislav Matejka. “However, we believe that the political news flow will contribute to heightened volatility in the coming weeks.” Analysts see the European region (NYSEARCA:VGK), (IEUR), (IEV) as market weight. Also, GDP projections in the regions are consistent with flat earnings growth there, analysts said. European equities (VGK), (IEUR), (IEV) have lagged since last summer, underperforming the U.S. market by almost 17%.
