The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels' Hong Kong Revenue Per Available Room, Room Occupancy Falls in Q2

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels' (HKG:0045) revenue per available room for its Peninsula hotels declined in Hong Kong during the second quarter to HK$2,492 from HK$2,655, according to a Wednesday filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

RevPAR for its operations in other Asian locations increased to HK$2,280 from HK$1,994 a year earlier while it grew to HK$5,552 from HK$5,123 for its US and Europe locations.

Occupancy rates for its Hong Kong locations fell to 38% from 44%, while the rates for its other Asian locations increased to 58% from 56% and its US and Europe locations saw a rise to 62% from 58%, the filing said.
