Veeco Instruments Q2 Adjusted Earnings, Sales Rise; Issues Q3 Guidance

Veeco Instruments (VECO) reported Q2 non-GAAP earnings late Tuesday of $0.42 per diluted share, up from $0.36 a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expected $0.43.

Net sales for the quarter ended June 30 was $175.9 million, up from $161.6 million a year earlier.

Analysts polled by Capital IQ expected $176 million.

The company expects Q3 adjusted EPS of $0.39 to $0.49. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $0.46. Revenue for the quarter is projected to be $170 million to $190 million. Analysts surveyed by Capital IQ expect $181.9 million.

Shares of the company fell over 9% in after-hours activity Tuesday.
