Idemitsu Kosan (TYO:5019) has transitioned its SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) production project at the Tokuyama Complex to the FEED (Front-End Engineering & Design) phase, according to a filing to the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Friday.
This decision follows the successful completion of the project's feasibility study.
The company aims to start producing 250,000 kL of SAF annually from waste oils and other raw materials by FY2028.
This effort is part of a broader goal to establish a domestic supply system of 500,000 kL per year by 2030. The project will utilize HEFA technology to achieve these targets.
