China Starch Swings to Fiscal H1 Profit Amid Revenue Boost

China Starch Holdings (HKG:3838) recorded an attributable profit of 214.7 million yuan for the six months ended June 30, as compared to an attributable loss of 37.8 million yuan during the year-ago period, a Wednesday bourse filing stated.

Earnings per share stood at 0.036 yuan during the six months, while the company incurred a loss per share of 0.0063 yuan in H1 2023.

Revenue for the cornstarch manufacturer fell to 5.65 billion yuan during the half year from 5.81 billion yuan a year prior, due mainly to lower average selling prices of its products.

Shares of the company closed over 2% higher on Wednesday.
