Scholar Education's H1 Profit Up 93%

Scholar Education Group (HKG:1769) recorded a 93% rise in attributable profit for the six months ended June 30 to 82.7 million yuan from 42.9 million yuan a year ago, a Thursday bourse filing stated.

Earnings per share increased to 0.1476 yuan from 0.0766 yuan in the first half of 2023.

The educational company's revenue rose by 59% to 399.1 million yuan from 251.3 million yuan.

The company attributed the boost in profit mainly to an increase in total tutoring hours, which led to higher revenue, as well as improved operational efficiency.
