China Southern Airlines' Passenger Capacity Up 17% in July

China Southern Airlines' (SHA:600029, HKG:1055) passenger capacity rose 17% year over year to 34.26 billion available seat kilometers (ASK) in July, according to a Thursday filing with the Shanghai bourse.

International passenger capacity climbed 16% to 8.05 billion ASK, while domestic passenger capacity rose 18% to 25.9 billion ASK.

Passenger count jumped 16% to 15.2 million, with domestic passenger load rising 16% to 13.4 million and international passenger load rising 16% to 1.6 million.

Cargo and mail volume was down 3.8% to 147,820 tons. Domestic cargo and mail volume declined 7.2% to 72,070 tons while international cargo and mail volume ticked down 0.1% to 73,510 tons.
