Buenaventura (BVN) said late Tuesday it has closed the sale of its Chaupiloma Dos de Cajamarca unit to a subsidiary of Franco-Nevada (FNV).
Chaupiloma owns a 1.8% net smelter return royalty on all minerals covering Newmont's (NEM) Yanacocha mine and adjacent mineral properties in Peru.
Buenaventura said the consideration for the royalty consists of $210 million, paid to the company in cash upon the deal's closing, as well as $15 million in Franco-Nevada common shares, payable upon achievement of certain conditions.
