Fluor Awarded $1.4 Billion Modification to Navy Nuclear Propulsion Contract

The Defense Department said Fluor was awarded a $1.4 billion cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to a contract for nuclear propulsion work.

The DoD said on its website Monday that Fluor Marine Propulsion got the modification to the previously awarded contract to exercise fiscal 2025 options for the work at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. The work will take place in Pittsburgh, Schenectady, N.Y., and Idaho Fall, Idaho.

The department also said fiscal 2024 other Navy procurement funding of $14.98 million, fiscal 2024 research-and-development and testing funding of $3.55 million and other fiscal 2022 Navy procurement funding amounting to $495,000 will be obligated at the time of award.
