Yancoal Australia Books 57% Drop in H1 Attributable Profit

Yancoal Australia's (ASX:YAL, HKG:3668) profit attributable to the owners declined 57% to AU$420 million in the first half of 2024 from AU$973 million a year ago, according to an Australian bourse filing on Monday.

Earnings per share in the six months ended June 30 fell to AU$0.318 from AU$0.734 a year earlier.

The coal mining company's revenue slid 21% year on year to $AU3.14 billion mainly due to a drop in coal sales, the filing said.

Shares of Yancoal Australia fell 1% in after-hours trading in both Australia and Hong Kong.
