China Telecom's (HKG:0728, SHA:601728) attributable profit for the six months ended June 30 rose 8.2% year over year to 21.8 billion yuan from 20.2 billion yuan.
Earnings per share increased to 0.24 yuan from 0.22 yuan a year earlier, a Tuesday filing on the Hong Kong bourse stated.
Operating revenue climbed 2.8% to 268 billion yuan from 260.7 billion yuan in the year-ago period.
The Chinese telco declared an interim dividend of 0.1671 yuan per share, payable on or before Oct. 18 to shareholders of record on Sept. 10.
