The investment institution went on to add: “With many folks now looking for a cut of as much as 50 bps in September, a degree of hesitancy in the Chair’s remarks could reintroduce some volatility into the market.” According to the CME FedWatch tool, ahead of the Jackson Hole address, the target rate probability for a 50-basis point rate cut at the September Fed meeting sits at 22.5%. On the other end, the probability for a 25-basis point cut stands at 77.5%.
