Renascor Resources (ASX:RNU) moved closer to becoming a long-term producer of high-quality graphite products following successful equipment trials for its eco-friendly, hydrofluoric acid-free purification process.
The trials produced lithium-ion battery grade graphite across all targeted product specifications, with results of up to 99.99% carbon versus the anode industry standard of 99.95%, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The trials also provided design specifications for an Australian Government co-funded demonstration facility.
The resource developer started engineering for the purified spherical graphite demonstration facility and is on schedule to start commissioning of the demonstration plant in the second quarter of 2025.
Renascor Resources shares rose 6% Wednesday.
