China Tobacco International (HK)'s H1 Profit Jumps 41% as Revenue Rises 12%

China Tobacco International (HK)'s (HKG:6055) attributable profit rose 41% to 643.3 million yuan in the first half from 457 million yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Earnings per share at the tobacco products company increased to HK$0.93 from HK$0.66 in the previous year.

Revenue grew 12% to 8.70 billion yuan from 7.74 billion yuan a year earlier.

The company declared an interim dividend of HK$0.15 per share, compared with none a year earlier, and payable Sept. 27 to shareholders on record as of Sept. 16.

Shares closed 2% higher during Wednesday's trading.
