China Coal Energy's H1 Attributable Profit Slides 16% as Revenue Falls

China Coal Energy Company (HKG:1898, SHA:601898) attributable profit fell 16% to 10.7 billion yuan in the first half from 12.7 billion yuan in the year-ago period, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Earnings per share at the Chinese coal company decreased to 0.81 yuan from 0.96 yuan in the previous year.

Revenue declined 15% to 93.0 billion yuan from 109.4 billion yuan a year earlier.

The company declared an interim dividend of 0.221 yuan per share, payable Oct. 23 to shareholders on record as of Sept. 13.

Shares rose 2% in Hong Kong and Shanghai during Tuesday's trading.
