Citic Books Marginally Higher Profit in H1

Citic (HKG:0267) recorded a profit attributable to ordinary shareholders of 32.11 billion yuan for the six months ended June 30, 0.1% higher than 32.09 billion yuan logged for the corresponding period last year, a Friday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange said.

Earnings per share attributable to ordinary shareholders stood at 1.09 yuan in the reporting period, compared to 1.10 yuan recorded in the year-ago period.

The state-owned investment company's net interest income for the first half of this year was 74.14 billion yuan, lower than 75.72 billion yuan booked a year ago.

The board recommended an interim dividend of 0.19 yuan per share for the reporting period as compared to 0.18 yuan from the last year. The dividend will be paid on Nov. 15 to shareholders on record as of Sept. 30.

The company's shares were up 1% in recent trade.
