United Company RUSAL (HKG:0486) recorded a profit attributable to shareholders of $565 million for the six months ended June 30, higher than $420 million logged for the corresponding period last year, a Tuesday filing with the Hong Kong Exchange said.
Earnings per share stood at $0.0372 for the reporting period, compared to $0.0276 recorded for the year-ago period.
The aluminium producer's revenue for the first half of this year was $5.70 billion, 4.2% lower than the $5.95 billion booked a year ago.
The company attributed the decrease in revenue to a decline in sales volume of some of the ores it sells.
