An outflow of $3.85B for the week ending August 30, compared to the previous outflow of ~$1B for the week ending August 23. The benchmark index S&P 500 (SP500) saw marginal gains last week of ~0.56%. It marked a third consecutive weekly win. August recap:  For the month of August, SPT ETF (SPY) saw about $9.55B in money flowing out, with the highest outflows seen in the Communications Services Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLC), totaling $609.5M. The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) followed with a $465.69M outflow.  The highest fund baggers were the Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) with an inflow of $823.38M and the Utilities Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLU) with a $603.56M inflow. Last week: The 11 S&P 500 sectors recorded a net inflow of $362.3M last week, according to data from etf.com. 6 out of 11 sectors saw money flowing out of their respective sector-wise fund. Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) saw the highest outflow of $328.249M, followed by Materials Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLB) with an outflow of $116.33M. Following the broader trend in August, Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) saw the highest inflow last week of $747.65M, and Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund ETF saw an inflow of $95.17M.
