Bonterra Energy has appointed Scott Johnston to the role of chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Johnston succeeds Robb Thompson who is retiring from the company at the end of October after a 13 year tenure with the oil and gas company, Bonterra said Tuesday.

Thompson will work alongside Johnston to support a seamless transition over the next two months.

Johnston brings with him over 18 years of finance, capital markets and engineering experience, most recently serving as a partner at energy focused investment bank Peters & Co. based in Calgary.

In the past, he has also held roles of increasing seniority in the acquisition and divestiture advisory arm of a bank-owned investment dealer, Bonterra said.
