Stocks to Watch Tuesday: U.S. Steel, Airbus, Volkswagen, Zscaler -- WSJ

U.S. Steel $(X)$: Vice President Kamala Harris said she opposed the pending $14.1 billion takeover of the steelmaker by Japan's Nippon Steel (JP:5401), saying it should remain American owned. U.S. Steel's shares fell in premarket trading.

BMW (XE: BMW): The German carmaker recalled more than 140,000 of its electric Minis, saying there was a risk of battery fires. No accidents or injuries have been reported.

Volkswagen (XE: VOW3): The automaker said it was considering closing factories in Germany to cut costs, as it faces increasingly stiff competition with Chinese and European rivals.

Airbus (FR:AIR) and Cathay Pacific Airways (HK:293): The Hong Kong-based airline canceled dozens of flights after it discovered one of its Airbus 350 jets had engine issues. It is inspecting the rest of its fleet.

Earnings coming up include Zcaler $(ZS)$ and Gitlab $(GTLB)$ after the market close.
