** Hong Kong's HSCI Energy Index drops as much as 4.4% in early trade, while China's CSI Energy Index falls up to 2.5%

** Oil prices fall on expectations the political dispute that has halted Libyan exports may be resolved and concerns over lower global demand growth

** Shares of oil giants CNOOC and PetroChina slump more than 5% in both Shanghai and Hong Kong in early trade

** Sinopec drops more than 3% in Hong Kong and nearly 2% in Shanghai
