Forge Global Holdings (FRGE), a private market platform, on Wednesday listed SpaceX and OpenAI as two of the seven private companies outperforming their public market counterparts over the last year.

In addition to SpaceX and OpenAI, the "Private Magnificent 7" includes Stripe, Databricks, Fanatics, Scale AI and Rippling, Forge Global said. That group has outperformed the "Public Magnificent 7" -- Alphabet (GOOG), Amazon.com (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Microsoft (MSFT), Nvidia (NVDA), Meta Platforms (META) and Tesla (TSLA) -- by 16.9% in the 12-moth period ending Aug. 31, as its price performance rose by 55.3% during that time compared with the public group's rise of 38.4%, Forge Global said.

The Private Magnificent 7 data is sourced from Forge Data, while the Public Magnificent 7 is from Nasdaq, Forge Global said.

The Forge price is a proprietary model for late-stage, venture-backed companies with secondary market liquidity. It is derived using information from primary funding rounds, secondary market transactions and indications of interest on Forge, the company said.

"While the sector compositions are different between the Public and Private Magnificent 7, Artificial Intelligence as a secular growth trend is reflected in both cohorts," Forge Global said.
