New Jersey Resources Raises Quarterly Dividend by 7.1%

New Jersey Resources' board has raised the natural-gas provider's quarterly dividend by 7.1%, to 45 cents from 42 cents.

The new payout, equal to $1.80 a year, represents an annual yield of about 3.87% based on Wednesday's trading price of $46.16, up from 3.64%.

The Wall, N.J., company said the increased dividend is payable Oct. 1 to shareholders of record Sept. 23.
