Chinese EV Makers Will Continue to Take Market Share -- Market Talk

Dow Jones09-11

0533 GMT - China's EV makers will continue to take more market share from conventional cars, Nomura analysts write in a note. In 1H, Chinese EV makers have reported robust revenue growth and some margin improvement, but traditional ICE makers have suffered from revenue and margin downturns compared with a year earlier, they say. Given current auto market dynamics and the pricing power of EV players, Nomura thinks the EV makers will continue to gain more market share. In addition, they expect fierce competition within the EV sector to continue given no player has a double-digit market share other than BYD.(jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
