GEM Commissions Indonesian Nickel Plant

Chinese battery material manufacturer and recycler GEM (SHE:002340) started the operations of the second phase of its nickel resource hydrometallurgy in Indonesia, according to a Tuesday disclosure on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

Qingmeibang Nickel Resource plant, which is managed by subsidiary QMB New Energy Materials, was constructed for 16 months.

The plant has a production capacity of more than 25,000 tons of nickel every year for a single reactor, the disclosure added.
