Materials Flat as Orange Juice, Gold Hover Near Records -- Materials Roundup

Dow Jones09-11

Producers of metals and other raw materials were flat ahead of inflation data, amid strength in agricultural and precious metals prices.

Higher avocado prices boosted the earnings and share prices of Mission Produce and Calavo Growers. Shares of rival producer Limoneira fell even after it reported higher revenue.

Orange juice futures on the ICE exchange topped the $5 a pound mark for only the second time in its history, as a hurricane in the key Gulf of Mexico region boosted prices.

Gold futures closed within 0.6% of all-time highs as traders bet the precious metal would benefit from rate cuts and proposed economic policies that could weigh on the U.S. dollar.
