Teledyne Technologies Unit Delivers Surveillance Systems to Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force

Teledyne Technologies (TDY) unit Teledyne FLIR Defense said Sunday it is delivering its Star SAFIRE 380-HLD multi-spectral imaging systems to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force under a contract of up to $20.8 million.

The Star SAFIRE 380-HLD is an ultra-long-range airborne surveillance system which the Japanese force will integrate into its SH-60L helicopter, the company said.

The program calls for Teledyne FLIR Defense to deliver 10 Star SAFIRE 380-HLD systems over the next three years.
