For the week that ended September 11, financial participants retracted a total of $1.6B from the equity fund space, which consists of both exchange-traded funds and conventional funds. While equity funds watched money exit the door, bond funds noticed the opposite effect take place, as they were able to attract a total of $16.7B on the week. “Most of the outflows came from US funds, which saw US$6.1bn of net redemptions. European funds also had US$1.0bn of outflow. Global funds however still enjoyed US 4.6bn of inflow,” Citi stated.
